Montessori Approach

Rumah Montessori has thoughtfully prepared an environment to support your children's natural development, and their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs within a mixed age community of 3 to 6 years old.

Practical Life

Practical Life

  Consists of many tasks that children experience as a part of their daily routines at home such as care of the person, care of the environment and exercises in social etiquette known as grace and courtesy.

  Through motions in these activities will help them to coordinate their movement, be independent and build their concentration.

  The Practical Life activities also lays a strong skill foundation for future tasks and learning in all other areas.   

Sensorial

  All materials in Sensorial area are carefully selected and designed by Dr. Maria Montessori herself which allows children to act as sensorial explorers and to explore extensively.

  They will be able explore the world through these five senses which are touch, sight, smell, taste and hearing of everything that is around them.

  Through interaction with sensorial materials, will help them to refine these key senses which later on will enable them to classify their world and encourages for more exploration.

  Some of sensorial activities also contains many indirect preparations for later work and learning in mathematics and language.

  By offering freedom to speak in the environment, Montessori environment is rich in speaking opportunities which allows them to progress to become a total capable reader and writer.

  Children will then expand language through experience in poetry, stories, and interaction within their environment.

  Often children will be able to express their thoughts and ideas well and eventually helps them to be a confident writer and presenter.

 

Mathematics

  Mathematics area consists of progressions of manipulative concrete materials that gives children better understanding of Mathematical concepts before they arrive at abstracts. .

  With the strong foundation and fundamental concepts built with Sensorial materials, children will develop a better understanding of Mathematics for future tasks and learning.

Culture

  Children are naturally attracted to all and every aspect within this world.

  In an established Montessori environment, we bring parts of the outside world to them to satisfy their curiosity and at the same time to build the connection with the world.

  Beginning with an introduction to the world, children will be able to explore the world as a whole, and then moving to continents and eventually to their country and own city.

  In Montessori, children will also be introduced to the world of plants, world of animals, world of man, world of arts and world of sports.
